a lovely chain of events

It’s amazing how things flow along to an unexpected, surprising, disastrous conclusion…

  1. Several months/years ago, when my sister was dorm parent, someone gave her an old but comfortable recliner…
  2. My sister moved out of the dorm into an apartment. The old but comfortable recliner tags along.
  3. We have no room for the old but comfortable recliner, so we place it in the kitchen and never sit in it.
  4. My parents stop by. My dad decides the old but comfortable recliner would make a great computer chair.
  5. Between the couch, the old but comfortable recliner, and the computer, there’s not much room for maneuvering…
  6. The weather outside is delightful… meaning the window is open… by the computer…
  7. I leave for work.
  8. My sister comes home from work.
  9. She decides to close the window, and in the process, steps on my $100 Bose earphones, ripping the cord out of the plug and bending the USB plug on my drive and the audio plug on my M-M audio cable.

yeah, he’s OK.

Gaborik. 5 goals. 1 assist. 6 points.

Gotta see the slow-motion highlights on the Wild front page. Nice.

montana…

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Remember Montana? Wow, that was a semester ago… forever ago, it seems like. Here are some memories:

  • Cold. Wow. Especially at night.
  • KOA with one power outlet…. interesting. Bring power inverter and or surge protector/multiple outlets next time.
  • We ended up in Canada on the way back… interesting!
  • Flashlight with good batteries might be an idea for next time, too!
  • Dad didn’t bring hiking/mountain climbing shoes… oops.
  • Chased a mountain goat around for a while… he cheated, though:

  • And we got a flat on the way back… to bad we didn’t have a key… and I can’t find the photo right now… oh well. It was interesting anyway.

I think that’s most of it…

photos + fanbase

Here are some photos, I think..

Oh, and my fan-base is growing – or maybe it’s a leech-base. Hm.

Anyway, Sarah T started a blog. Check it out.

And my sister said she has some more OO.org converts. Maybe she can post an updated list here… HINT HINT

Seems that I’ve been away for a while; I apologize to all my fans. Took a little excursion to Montana and back. Returned Monday at 2AM; leave for Oklahoma Tuesday at 7AM.

I’ll write more on the Montana excursion later (if I remember.) I got some fantastic photos and even some spiffy video to post. In the meantime, we got new phones. Samsung SYNC (SGH-A707) for all. Yay.

[radio edit]

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

KTLK FM was pretty interesting today.

Dan Conry cut off several callers. One guy (Mike) called back and was saying, “Dan, you cut me off earlier, and for good reason…” and Dan cut him off again: “Sorry, Mike, I know you were the first caller today, but one call per show, and please don’t call every day.”

Lol. Cut off again! Poor guy.

Then Jason Lewis… wow, radio edit this. Man, he was upset, and for good reason. I’ve never heard him swear that much on air. I’m surprised he managed to stay within FCC guidelines.

endorsement.

Talked to my cuz (Sasha) before Sunday school. Always plenty of laughs when we talk.

He told me about how someone broke the back passenger side window in his car. That someone then went into a store, got a plastic bag, and covered the window. It obviously had the store logo on it.

I said, “Oh, sounds like you got a sponsor for your car. (Mercedes, btw.)”

Who was the sponsor, you ask? Was it Injen, or AEM, Stillen, Skunk2, Audiobahn, Pioneer, Eurolite… Edelbrock, K&N… Kenwood… Rockford Fosgate… (I could go on for a while)?

Nope. It was a new kid on the block:

Bachman performance parts.” Oh, man, that was funny…

Special

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

My cousin Taniya (I hope I spelled that right) sang a special in church tonight. It was excellent. I wish I had recorded it.

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Wow. Amazing song…

bus, take 2

Let’s see… today I saw: (in order)

  1. Ohio. I think it was Ohio. It was a bit too far away, but the colors looked right.
  2. Florida. Again.
  3. Iowa. Again. Pontiac G6
  4. Wisconsin, but that’s pretty close. I94.

Florida’s quite a drive… I guess it’s not all that odd, since they all were near I35.

Wednesday at work.

Had a Scottish-sounding guy get on to us about “our paint” killing off “his sod” (grass). Oooooooook… objections:

  1. Latex-based paint doesn’t kill grass.
  2. We just got here. Today. No way that our paint could have killed your sod that fast. If paint did/could kill grass.
  3. We aren’t the only painters on the property.
  4. You have more sod dying than paint we spill in a year.

So, lalala to him. Sorry, man, but find somebody else to blame… like those painters in the back. :D
