Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?

If so, then you’ve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides—the reality is very different. Once you pull the curtain away you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they don’t surround us at all.
We surround them.
So, how do we show America what’s really behind the curtain? Below are nine simple principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. I urge you to read the instructions at the end for how to help make your voice heard.

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
You Are Not Alone

Back in the day… way back in the day… it was kinda hard to back up. When I bought my first new computer, it was a 475MHz Compaq, I believe. I don’t even remember the hard drive size. CD burners were still fairly new and going for around $150. Internet access was slow. Computers came with “restore CDs” that wiped your entire drive. In short, there was pretty much no way to backup files. Losing stuff was the way it went. Eh.

Well, times have changed. I now have high speed internet, 2×500GB HDDs (one of which is only for backups), and a DVD burner. And finally, about a month ago, I started backing things up, for real. Oh, sure, before I kinda dabbled in backups. I never really got into using CDs, which only hold a paltry 650-800MB. Who needs that? And I still kinda lost files now and then, but nothing major. Anyway, now I’m using Mozy Home alongside Comodo Backup.

And, yes, I hope I never need them.

If there ever was any question of my not having enough stuff…  and I don’t think there ever has been…. I present the following:

A few notes:

1. Usually the second (far left) monitor is not used.
2. The laptop is usually not used, also. I’m currently using it for a special project.
3. The main computer/screen (far right) is set up to remote control the laptop.
4. I have 2 x 6 outlet power strips + 1 x 3 outlet. That’s 15 outlets, and I’m using 14 of them.

Another smart talk radio host with lots of great points that really isn’t accomplishing anything, unfortunately. And the government is looking to shut them down eventually.

“The players and the union are thrilled,” Jeffrey Kessler, an attorney for the NFL Players Association, told The Associated Press. Kessler said the judge’s timeframe is long enough that the players can finish the season and go to the playoffs if their teams make it that far.

For those not following the story, 5 NFL players were suspended for taking Starcaps, which have a NFL-banned substance but the substance is not listed on the Starcaps list of ingredients. Unfortunately, Starcaps is a dietary supplement, and the NFL said "BE CAREFUL TAKING DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS, SOME OF THEM DON’T LIST ALL THE INGREDIENTS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE CALL US TO FIND OUT IF YOU TAKE SOMETHING THAT HAS A BANNED SUBSTANCE THAT IS NOT LISTED YOU WILL HAVE NO EXCUSES." Sorry for yelling. Anyway, the point of the matter is that the players are under contract (legally speaking) and they breached their contract and the NFL was going to punish them as specified in the contract until the players appealed to the government and the government is now going to decide if the players need to abide by their contract or not.

Moral of the story? If you sign a contract and you later change your mind, just as the government to interfere. Like, say, with your mortgage.

So I just updated to a fall theme as winter rolls in. Brilliant of me. I’ll try to get a winter theme up soon…

Oops. So I’m against white text over a background image. Also, in general, I’m against background images. But, overall, I like my new theme. It does need some more color tweaking, but I’ve had enough for now. The right side can be dragged and dropped around (or closed) by the user, and the settings will be saved via cookies. Pretty nifty.
