Talked to my cuz (Sasha) before Sunday school. Always plenty of laughs when we talk.

He told me about how someone broke the back passenger side window in his car. That someone then went into a store, got a plastic bag, and covered the window. It obviously had the store logo on it.

I said, “Oh, sounds like you got a sponsor for your car. (Mercedes, btw.)”

Who was the sponsor, you ask? Was it Injen, or AEM, Stillen, Skunk2, Audiobahn, Pioneer, Eurolite… Edelbrock, K&N… Kenwood… Rockford Fosgate… (I could go on for a while)?

Nope. It was a new kid on the block:

Bachman performance parts.” Oh, man, that was funny…

Special

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

My cousin Taniya (I hope I spelled that right) sang a special in church tonight. It was excellent. I wish I had recorded it.

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Wow. Amazing song…

best ever

If you’ve never read Calvin and Hobbes (C&H), you’re missing out:

  • I like maxims that don’t encourage behavior modification.
  • Reality continues to ruin my life.
  • Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless.
  • A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
  • That’s the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn’t good enough for me! I demand euphoria!
  • In my opinion, we don’t devote nearly enough scientific research to finding a cure for jerks.
  • As a math atheist, I should be excused from this.
  • This one’s tricky. You have to use imaginary numbers, like eleventeen …
  • I’m learning real skills that I can apply throughout the rest of my life … Procrastinating and rationalizing.
  • I’m not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information

Let’s see… today I saw: (in order)

  1. Ohio. I think it was Ohio. It was a bit too far away, but the colors looked right.
  2. Florida. Again.
  3. Iowa. Again. Pontiac G6
  4. Wisconsin, but that’s pretty close. I94.

Florida’s quite a drive… I guess it’s not all that odd, since they all were near I35.

INT

The age old problem with HUMINT and SIGINT.

Use the source, expose the source.

Don’t use the source, waste the source.

Hmmm…

unbelievable

I can’t believe it – Yohizzle (aka Johan Santana) has given up another home run. This is the two-time Cy Young Award winner, the best pitcher in baseball, the guy who had a 41-4 record after the All Star break since 2003? And he’s still on the leader board in ERA and K? He’s also third in the league in HR allowed – 23. If this guy gets a contract for $20 million a year, it’s a joke. A bad joke. At least at the rate he’s going.

funny anyway

On the /. “first armed robots in Iraq.” They are currently armed with M249 machine guns. I commented on the fact that there are only three in the entire country. A reply to my comment:

Wait until they release the robotic M1A1 Abrams. Three ought to do it. It’ll come with the Three Laws of Army Robotics.

1. If it moves, shoot it.

2. If it doesn’t move, make it move.

3. See Law 1.

Lol

Had a Scottish-sounding guy get on to us about “our paint” killing off “his sod” (grass). Oooooooook… objections:

  1. Latex-based paint doesn’t kill grass.
  2. We just got here. Today. No way that our paint could have killed your sod that fast. If paint did/could kill grass.
  3. We aren’t the only painters on the property.
  4. You have more sod dying than paint we spill in a year.

So, lalala to him. Sorry, man, but find somebody else to blame… like those painters in the back. :D
