safe (for now)

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

according to the guy’s dorm guard, we had an interesting night in the guy’s parking lot last night. it was his first night on duty, too. luckily, there are two cameros (ok, only one runs), a jaguar, and a late model chevy 1500 or 2500 or so truck. hopefully they’ll stay away from my ‘87 accord with the pioneer stereo…

speaking of which, the stereo works great. (pioneer deh p-5800 by the way)

the oled screen is nice, but not quite fantastic. i like the layout a bit better than the 3700. still would like xm/sirius and/or a sub, but it’s all good for now.

US and Lebanon say ceasefire deal in sight
SABC News

um, did anyone ask Israel? just a thought. i mean, they are the ones fighting.

UN Vote on Cease-Fire Resolution Expected
KSBI 52

In this case, failure is not an option: it’s a built in feature. Seriously, how can you see the letters “UN” and not think, “Oh, here comes another total joke”?

Survival is constant concern in Lebanon

Maybe they should have thought of that before the Hez-bos took over.

Anyway, there you have it.

wrong way

bad day:

  • $1.1 million bond (already)
  • weaving in and out of traffic/between lanes
  • U-Turn on a freeway.
  • spike strip flattens your tires
  • you don’t get out for the police
  • you have a bullet proof vest on
  • you have an AK-47 type assault rifle
  • you have 3 semiauto handguns
  • all four are loaded
  • you are near the home of a witness against you for a previous case

your name is Maurice Clarett. you were a star running back for Ohio State.

you are now another athlete loser.

The only way the Vikings will make it to the Super Bowl is if they have 53 tickets.

At least he’s not delusional.

little green footballs (blog) was sent a death threat by either someone from reuters or someone using a reuters email account, because lgf found and published the fact that some/several/many reuters/ap photos of the war in the Middle East were doctored/faked, etc. simply amazing.

exploding

Monday, August 7th, 2006

wow. it’s amazing. my music section has exploded. i have 97 visits from google searches, and 69 different key phrases, the top 10 being:

sweet beulah land 8 7.7 %
sweet beulah land lyrics 5 4.8 %
song lyrics – thank god i am free 4 3.8 %
beulah land lyrics 3 2.9 %
reach the world lyrics 3 2.9 %
he paid a debt lyrics 2 1.9 %
thank god i am free 2 1.9 %
the judgment all is still heaven is silent lyrics 2 1.9 %
god wants to hear you sing 2 1.9 %
he paid a debt he did not owe i owe a debt i could not pay i needed someone to wash my sins away 2 1.9 %

i should probably work on that a little more, considering i only have around 30 songs up. plus, a lady from Delaware wants an Ambassadors CD because they sing “The Judgment” and she says she’s been looking for that song for years. wow.

oh, and the 97 search engine hits/69 different phrases is a record for me, and it’s only the 7th day of the month. (stats are kept per month)

hi what an interesting weekend i have had. i went to illinois and to a wedding…oh wait wrong person..my bad. not really!

Oh well. i guess this is all i will write today. l8tr

amusing commercials are nice. boring commercials are boring.

verizon keeps claiming that 1) a cell phone is a back to school item. they’re not the only company, but can someone explain how a cell phone is a back to school item? 2) their cell phone(s) are free. everyone knows “free” cell phones = 2 year contract @ minimum (50) + 2 extra lines (10 each) = 70 + misc fees/taxes = $80/mo * 24 mo = $1,920. sounds free to me….

next: i have a (nearly) fool-proof way to get green lights (almost) all the time. have something that you need to get done desperately, as long as you can do it in the car. like, get up late and take breakfast in the car on the way to work, let’s say. the odds of you being able to stop at a red light and eat a bite are minimal, especially if the food you have cannot be eaten on the go. like a bowl of soup. don’t ask how i know. so, the more desperately you need to get this done, and the harder it is to do while not stopped at a red light, the better your chances are of getting a green light. has happened to me.
